Birthday, birthday, birthday

Yup, it’s my birthday.  Another year older and another year wiser…. isn’t that what they say any way?  Who knows whether it’s true or not.  What I do know is that this past year has been truly incredible.  My life has changed significantly and I can honestly say that it has all been for the best.

Since this blog is about running, we’ll look at what this last year of running has brought.  This past year I have had the opportunity to run several races including my first half and full marathons.  I have met some of the most incredible people, many of whom I now consider to be my best friends.  I have seen what determination and hard work can do.  And I have witnessed the tenacity of the human spirit.  I have had injuries and seen others get injured.  I have worked hard, trained harder and I have triumphed.

I have memorized every mile of the Mohawk Hudson Bike path from Schenectady to Albany.  I have also logged hundreds of miles on that awesome path.  We are so lucky to have a great resource like that at our daily disposal.  I hear it every day from other running friends who are jealous!

I have been blessed to be able to run and to have come to a place where I truly enjoy it.  I consider myself fortunate for this and so many other things in my life.  This year has been remarkable.  I guess it’s time to get out my calendar and start planning my next year in order to make sure that it only gets bigger and better.  (I got a head start this morning and registered for the lottery for the NYC marathon.  Fingers crossed!)

What are you planning for your next year? Stay tuned.  I got my first items for a bloggy giveaway today!!! So exciting!!!!! 🙂
