1) I’m doing it. A 50K is in my future. I’ve identified the race. It’s relatively close. It is very inexpensive. (This is something that fascinates me about ultra’s vs. a marathon!) And I’ll tell you which one it is as soon as I push the register button. I only hesitate because it’s a small race. They only take about 110 runners for the 50k, 50 miler and 100 miler. So, I don’t want to go shooting off at the mouth and then miss my window. So, as soon as I’m in, you’ll know. I gave a great deal of thought to “just” a marathon. I’m going with the 50k because I don’t have a time goal to make, and I’m doing it for fun. Just to enjoy the experience and to get some miles logged prior to really getting in to Ironman training.
2) I know that this is not running, triathlon or training related, but I am Les Miserables obsessed. It’s long time been a favorite of mine. I got myself to the theater the day after Christmas to see it. I can tell you that not a day has gone by since then that I haven’t had at least one of the songs stuck in my head for some portion of the day. Please, do yourself and me a favor. Get yourself to the nearest theater and see it. I can promise you that you will not regret it. And while you can see it on video, I can almost guarantee you that it will not be the same as in the theater. Seriously, I’m contemplating going again. I sang along, I smiled and I cried. They did a remarkable job. You can check out the highlights on Itunes, but some of the best songs are missing…. I mean, no “Do You Hear the People Sing,” no, “A Little Fall of Rain.” I could go on, but anyway, GO AND SEE IT!
