Life has been nuts lately with training. With less than a month until Tinman, my schedule has been dominated by training. I have been running races, practicing fueling and this Sunday I’ll be doing another sprint triathlon to see just what things I need to nail down before heading to Tupper Lake for the big day. So two things…..
Uno – In good training news, I’m feeling pretty good on the bike. I will say it out loud that I’m a pretty slower biker as they come. But I’m finally at a place where I enjoy the bike. for a long time I just couldn’t wait for it to get over already!! No mas. Good thing I guess since the bike for a half iron is a full 56 miles. Wahoo!
And yes, this is how you smile for a picture when you’re ready to be biking already!
Dos – Thanks to a couple of open water swims in the last few weeks, I’m starting to feel like I might be ok. I’m not going to pretend that I’m totally panic free, but I am getting there. This always happens and by the end of the year, I’ll be just fine. Blech! But seriously, when I keep the fears at bay and just zone out to 1, 2, 3 breathe….I can do it. So with a little luck, I will swim my way through Hudson Crossings (it’s only 500 yrds) and get the big confidence boost that I desperately need right now in the swim department. Because really, if I can just survive the swim, I know I can complete the bike and run.
So that’s what’s on my list. How about you this Tuesday?
