{Two Things Tuesday} V-Day Edition

First, I started my official training plan for my first Half-Ironman yesterday.  While it was only an easy 3 mile run and a 30 minute strength training session, I am happy to say that I rocked it.  I ran the first 1.5 miles easy, then I kicked it way up to see what I had in my tank for the last 1.5 miles.  (Sorry Coach … guess I failed on executing that plan properly).  While I know I was supposed to do 3 easy, it felt awesome to do 3 and feel like I killed it.  Last week when I first hopped back on the treadmill after being out injured, I felt pretty defeated.  I was out of breath at 1 mile and struggled to put down three.  So one week later, to nail a workout, was just what I needed.  I’m ready.

And second…. it’s Valentines Day! I have big plans this evening to hang with my littlest and cutest Valentine.  We have a double date with some of our bestest friends who are moving out-of-town.  They promise to visit and Mama E promises to train for her first half marathon with me this fall, so I won’t get too sad as long as they keep their promises!
