I’m behind. Yep, that’s what I said. Between the birthday festivities and moving all of my earthly possessions to a new house, I have fallen behind in both my blogging and my running! Geez….. funny how life has a way of doing that once in a while. I suppose I should learn to just go with the flow and not worry about it so much. I’m trying, I’m trying.
So anyway, let’s recap!
Since I was here last, C-man and I managed to relocate all of our things to our new digs. It’s a spacious little place that we like to call….. home! Now, let’s not be confused and think that it’s all fancy and what have you. Home still needs a lot of work, but I can say that with or without work…..it’s ours. All three bedrooms, one and a half baths, that are located on a double lot with a fence. Heaven, can I repeat heaven. Everyone now has space to roam, play and be. Just be, which it turns out is exactly what we’ve been longing for!
And then, because moving wasn’t enough, I took the time over the weekend to run one of my favorite races in the area, the Stockadeathon 15k. I don’t know why it is that I love this race so much but I really do. It’s a nice long run on a Sunday morning. The weather was absolutely perfect for a race. Chilly but not freezing. I arrived early, got a one mile warm up in before the start of the race, ran the race and then rounded out another two miles for 12 on the day. An official drop back day before climbing yet again on the marathon long run training plan. It was a beautiful morning, a super well run race and I PR’ed by about 3 minutes without really trying. By that I mean that I ran the race nice and easy with the thought of just getting all 12 miles in for the day not worrying about my time. So, I’ll take that all the way to the bank and then some. But I can also openly admit that it makes me want to race. Actually race, a distance with no additional miles at the end and see just what I can do. Might just need to find a race to run in the near future.
Anyway, that’s the short update, until the next I’ll be unpacking, cleaning, folding clothes and organizing my days away!
