On Saturday I completed my longest bike for this training cycle. It was a total of 43 hilly wonderful miles. I met up with a couple of my tri training peeps at the Saratoga Battlefield. We completed 4 loops through the park. There are quite a few hills so it’s a great course to ride. There are some great downhills accompanied by a few uphills. Perfect for one … eh, hem… me, training for a half ironman in Tupper Lake. The ride was rather uneventful, except for when a bee managed to fly at me, get hung up under my watch and proceed to sting me. That was sweet. Not really. And next time, I swear I’m taking pictures. There are some really great views in the park that I want to share. So I’ll return, to take pictures and share here! If I must!!
And I’m down to 9 weeks. Only 9 weeks left to train. I’m not freaking out yet. Ok, I might have freaked out a little after the 43 mile bike ride when we ran 1 mile and I was seriously questioning how in the world I would ever run another 12.1 miles. But I continue to remind myself that a large part of the training is mental training. Learning to believe that I can. One mile at a time. One mile at a time. So only 9 weeks to go, one day a time……. One foot in front of the other….
