Well, I don’t know about the rest of you and I suppose it depends on where you live, but today was a beautiful day for a run here in NY. The weather was mid-50′s and sun, sun, sun. I had a pre-planned running date with my marathon pals and I couldn’t have been happier!
We are in the middle of planning our travel to and from the SunTrust National Half-Marathon in March and in the beginning stages of planning our Ragnar team for the relay in May. So we had set up a planning meeting to hammer out some details a few weeks ago. Then we decided that before we met, we should do a run. Perfect day for it. Couldn’t have been better!
We met up at the Zin Smith Trail in Ballston Lake for a 5 mile run. We took off with speedy A-Sizzle and both B & I kept up and kept a great pace for the entire run. Ok, we took two quick walk breaks, but even still we finished up with a 9:51 pace overall. This is over 2 minutes per mile faster than I was just last year. Amazing what almost 1,000 miles logged will do for you and for your speed!?!

It was so great to get out on the trail today not only because the weather was great but also because it was a little bit like old times. Okay, so maybe those times were only 2 months ago, but when you’re used to running with the same folks every weekend, taking two months off from that feels like an eternity. So, thanks to A-Sizzle and B for the great run today! I had a blast. What did you do today?

It was great to run together again. Ragnar and DC are going to be GREAT and also a wonderful motivation for getting through the winter! And what a great new path!
I know…… I’m so looking forward to these fun adventures. Who knew that busting your @*! could be so great and that you’d meet super duper people along the way.
